Here at A-1 Self Storage, we know our success is due to our wonderful team. The care they give our customers is unparalleled and we want to highlight their milestones along the way. Below is an interview with team member Kaela Decrescente, who is celebrating her 4-year anniversary with A-1 Self Storage.
You can meet Kaela at A-1 Self Storage in Downtown San Diego.
Colby: Hi, Kaela! Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. How long have you been with A-1 Self Storage?
Kaela: It’s been four years now.
Colby: Have you always worked at the same location, or have you moved around over the years?
Kaela: I started at Fashion Valley for about a year, and then I moved over to Downtown for a couple of years, then I was a floater and did that for about a year, now I am back to the Downtown location.
Colby: Very cool. Since you have been here for four years now, what advice would you give somebody applying to with A-1 Self Storage if they had no self storage experience whatsoever?
Kaela: Patience is so important. Usually when people are moving they are very stressed out, and they really appreciate it when you are patient with them and can slow things down a little for them.
Colby: For sure. I imagine that a lot of people who need storage are in a difficult transition, or stressful time. So, having someone be patient and understanding is a big key right?
Kaela: Yeah, exactly.
Colby: Tell me a little about the Downtown area that you are in. What are some cool areas or restaurants you like to go to?
Kaela: There are a lot of places to walk around, and The Salvage Restaurant has really good food. I don’t typically travel around that much when I am off work.
Colby: What are your favorite things to do when you aren’t in the office? What keeps you busy when you aren’t working?
Kaela: Well, I also am a waitress, so I have that as an additional job. And I have a 3-year-old daughter, so when I am not too busy I like to go to the beach or get a workout in when time permits.
Colby: That’s great. Tell me a little bit about the time you spent as a floater, was that pretty different than the position that you have currently?
Kaela: Yeah every store is different, especially with different managers so you’ve got to figure out how they like to run things.
Colby: Is there anyone that you would like to give a shout out to that’s helped you along in the four years that you have been there?
Kaela: My manager Emma. I have been with her since my first year back at Fashion Valley and we both went to Downtown. She has always helped me out a lot and I really appreciate her and all her help.
