Lost keys? It happens to all of us! Maybe you left them on the roof of your car, a restaurant table, or, maybe, they simply just vanished. Whatever the case maybe we understand that losing the keys to a storage unit holding your valuables can be stressful and we are here for you. Here is what you need to do.
First of all, if you purchased one of our locks there is at least one additional copy of the key. It might be your lucky day! If you only lost one key and are able to locate a copy of the key you can remove the lock yourself and purchase a new lock to secure your storage unit with peace of mind.
If you lost both the original key and its copy here are the steps you need to take.
1. Hire a licensed locksmith. Contact your local A-1 Self Storage and one of our self storage experts will gladly recommend a licensed locksmith and provide you with a phone number to call.
2. Schedule a date and time to meet at our office. To have your lock removed you will need to be present with the locksmith and meet with an A-1 Self Storage associate prior to having your lock removed during office hours.
3. Purchase a new lock. You can purchase a new lock at the office. If you wish to purchase a lock elsewhere, consult with one of our storage experts to determine the type of lock required at the facility.
4. Remove the lock. After meeting with an A-1 Self Storage associate, your locksmith can remove the lock and you may replace the old lock with your new one.
