When Yesenia, owner of Y&C Display Solutions, started her business 9 years ago, she knew that she would eventually need self storage units to help supplement her existing warehousing needs without being tied into expensive multi-year leases.What she didn’t know was just how much renting at a facility with great features and customer service would mean for her company.
Yesenia’s business sells merchandising accessories and displays of varying sizes and materials, and she needed a clean, secure place where she could keep her rotating inventory. “There was a situation where I received 8 pallets of merchandise in, which needed to be quickly processed and shipped back out.” she said. “Instead of having to shift everything around in my existing warehouse for such a temporary need, I just used the a storage unit from A-1 I was renting for this job. My storage needs fluctuate often depending on how much stock I’m keeping and how much is going in and out, and the extra storage units allow me to be as versatile as needed.”
Originally, Yesenia would meet the trucks at the facility to let them load the shipment into her units. Both of her units are drive-up units which made accepting and unloading shipments convenient. However, once the routine was made apparent to the managers, they decided that they would do something to make the process even easier for Yesenia.
“When I have a truck shipment to one of my units, the managers give me a call and let me know they are there. Then they give them the key and they can get into the storage unit to drop off their shipment. I don’t have to drop what I’m doing to run over there,” she said.
