With 585 units, Rebecca says that 23 of those units are drive-up units, “The majority of those have been rented from businesses for quite a long time. They need that space and convenience of the drive up access.”
According to Rebecca, businesses tend to stick with A-1 Self Storage for a long time partially because of the ease of access, but also for the great security features. “We are gated and every customer gets their own individual access code. So you need that to get on the property. We also have 24-hour camera surveillance. We make sure the property is clean throughout the entire day. We take a lot of pride in that.”
The self storage professionals at Rebecca's location do a site clean up first thing every morning, and continue to do walks of the facility throughout the day, scouring for trash and dirt.
“And at the end of the day, we do one last walk through and the customers appreciate how clean it is.” Rebecca says, “I have gotten a lot of positive responses from customers on that.”
In terms of the area, this facility is surrounded mainly by businesses and Rebecca says that it is quiet in the evenings, since there aren’t many residences that surround the facility.
As we mentioned before, a large portion of the customers at this location are business owners. However, Rebecca said that the facility is still fairly diverse when it comes to its overall self storage community. “We have homeowners, college students, and businesses. Most of our large units are rented by businesses. We do have some customers that have been with us since the day we opened, and we have some that signed up yesterday. There is a great mix of people here.”
The team at this facility is dedicated and determined to make their customers’ experience with the facility as convenient as possible. The fact that they have access hours from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day of the year, including holidays, makes it obvious that customers’ convenience is a priority at this facility.
Just to make the experience even better, this facility also features a retail shop in the office that sells anything storage related, from boxes and bubble wrap to locks of varying sizes. If you need a way to move heavy items from floor to floor, Rebecca says they have very large elevators available.
“The elevators are really big. Most people are surprised that they are hospital sized elevators and that is important if you are moving to the top two floors. We also provide push carts to help move their items.”
